An investigation has been launched into a massive fire at a north-east farm.
More than 30 firefighters were called to the incident at Blackpots Farm, near Auchnagatt, on Sunday at about 7pm.
Several farm buildings were burning, and emergency crews from across the region were called to stop the flames from spreading.
In total eight appliances, including from as far afield as Stonehaven, were called to the scene. Smoke could be seen billowing into the sky for several miles around.
Last night a fire service spokeswoman said: “Officers were at the site today investigating the fire at Auchnagatt.”
It is understood the outcome of the investigation is not yet confirmed. The owners of the farm declined to comment.
The initial report to the fire service was of a “shed fire” however when the appliances arrived it was a well-developed fire in a building 100ft by 130ft in size.
Outgoing Central Buchan councillor Edie Chapman said the incident will have been “devastating” for the farmers affected.
“It could also be a huge loss for them because of the fire,” she added. “My thoughts are with the farmer who has had to go through this.”
