A male cyclist has been taken to hospital following a crash on the A96 earlier this morning.
A section of the A96 Aberdeen to Inverurie was closed this morning as emergency services dealt with a collision involving a cyclist and a van.
The male cyclist, who is in his 50s, was riding along the A96 close to the Broomhill roundabout at Kintore just after 6.20am today when he collided with a silver Vauxhall van.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene and the road was closed to southbound vehicles, however, reopened shortly before 1pm.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We attended a road traffic incident on the A96 this morning.
“One male patient was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
The road has now re-opened to traffic in both directions.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “The collision involved a pushbike and a van. The cyclist has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.”
