Four dedicated fundraisers have retired after four years of bringing in much-needed money for the charity.
The work of the Peterhead and District Friends of the ARCHIE Foundation has resulted in a child-friendly transformation of the G-Med centre in the town.
Peterhead Health Centre has also been fully refurbished as part of the group’s efforts, along with the accident and emergency waiting room.
The group was led by chairwoman Diane Buchan, treasurer Marella Reid, secretary Laura Forbes and committee member Alison Leslie, who have all now retired.
Ms Buchan described their work as “hard but very worthwhile”.
“The people of Buchan have been extremely generous over the years and I urge them to continue to be so,” she said.
“However, it is time for us to step down now and let a new team take over raising funds for ARCHIE – a very worthwhile cause.”
Foundation chief executive David Cunningham said: “Diane, Marella, Laura and the whole team have done a wonderful job in their time with our Peterhead Friends group, raising a total of more than £47,000 in the past four years.
“They have made a big difference for the children of Buchan, who now have a much more child-centred environment in which to receive the excellent care provided by the clinical staff, who also enjoy their new surroundings.
“We thank the whole Peterhead team very much indeed for all of their hard work.”
