A new nightclub is to open its doors in Aberdeen on August 31 after undergoing an £800,000 revamp.
ATIK on Bridge Street will replace Institute, which closed its doors last month.
The city centre venue has a long entertainment history and first opened in 1898 as the Palace Theatre.
It was then renovated and turned into a cinema in 1931, before becoming the Palace Ballroom in 1959 and then the Fusion Nightclub in 1976.
Prior to Liquid opening at the venue in 2003, the club was known as Ritzy’s and the Palace, with Institute opening in 2012.
General manager of ATIK, Ruth Jones, said: “The venue was a big part of the town’s nightlife for a number of years, both as the Institute and Liquid before that.
“Many people have happy memories of fun times here, but it’s time to bring something new to Aberdeen and the very best we can offer in terms of a clubbing experience.”
The new nightclub will have three different rooms, with a capacity of 1,540.
The club are also looking for 30 full and part-time staff and a recruitment drive is expected to begin soon.
