Aberdeen charities and volunteers have been named finalists in the 2014 Scottish Charity Awards.
Karen Farquhar-Marr, of Befriend a Child, and Gail McKeitch, a volunteer branch officer for the National Autistic Society in Ellon, have been shortlisted for the Charity Champion award.
The Aberdeen City Befriending for Older People project run by Sue Ryder and the Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisations (ACVO) is one of the finalists in the Perfect Partnership category.
All shortlisted entries for the awards, which are organised by the Scottish Council of Voluntary Organisations (SCVO), will compete for the People’s Choice Award which will be decided by public vote.

. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in Edinburgh on June 5.
A Royal Voluntary Service Great Brew Break Quiz Night at an Aberdeen hospital has raised £135 for the charity.
The evening at Woodend Hospital was hosted by volunteer Alison Mitchell and featured eight rounds of questions with homebakes and refreshments half way through.
Money from the event, which took place last Wednesday, will support the work of the Royal Voluntary Service in Aberdeen.
A postgraduate open evening will be held at Robert Gordon University (RGU) to showcase the range of opportunities available for prospective students.
The event will take place at RGU’s Riverside East Building at its Garthdee Campus in Aberdeen next Thursday from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
Representatives from online distance learning and part-time courses including computing, engineering, life sciences, business, surveying, law, social work, art and design and nursing will be able to answer any questions.
