Kevin Herd, whose address was given only as Aberdeen, appeared in private at the city’s sheriff court yesterday and made no plea to the charge. Sheriff Annella Cowan remanded the 32-year-old in custody and his case was continued for further examination. His appearance follows an alleged incident in Ash-Hill Place, in the Hilton area of the city, at about 7pm on Thursday. Police were called out following reports than a man had been attacked outside a block of flats near the roundabout leading to Rosehill Drive. Police could be seen searching the area with torches, while officers questioned people living at nearby properties. Herd is expected to appear in court again next week.
