VIDEO: Footage shows north-east church ablaze this morning

Footage has emerged of a north-east church burning to the ground this morning.
Firefighters spent several hours fighting the fire at a derelict church on Hatton’s Main Street at around 7.30am.
In the video, flames can be seen eating away at the building while its roof collapses and smoke engulfs the area.
Four fire appliances – two from Ellon and two from Peterhead – were called to the scene.

A fire at the disused West Church on Main Street in Hatton, Abderdeenshire. 35 fire fighters attended the blaze that started in the early morning.
An incident support van, an incident command unit and a height vehicle were also called in from Aberdeen.
A fire and rescue spokeswoman said: “We have got a derelict church on fire at the moment. The call came in at 7.30am and additional appliances were later called.
“I think they have got one hose reel jet, four breathing apparatus in use.”

The fire was brought under control by 10am.
The ambulance service were not called to the incident.
