The hard work of unpaid carers across the north-east will be celebrated this summer.
Aberdeenshire Council will host a series of events to pay tribute to the dedicated family, relatives, friends and neighbours who care for loved ones affected by physical or mental illness, disability or substance abuse.
The celebrations will form part of Carers Week in early June and will be held at venues in Lonmay, Banchory and Inverurie.
Aberdeenshire Provost Jill Webster said: “The events are to say thank you to all the unpaid carers in Aberdeenshire for the tremendous work they do, and we hope as many as possible will be able to attend.
“It will be an opportunity for them to get away from their day-to-day life for an afternoon of information, light entertainment and lunch.
“It will also be a chance for them to meet other carers in their local area and discuss common issues.”
The celebrations are open to all unpaid carers in Aberdeenshire.
They will be held at the Ban-Car Hotel in Lonmay on June 2, Tor-na-Coille in Banchory on June 5, and Inverurie’s Thainstone House on June 21. They will all start at noon.
