Hundreds of comic book fans descended on an Aberdeenshire town dressed as their favourite superheroes, TV and film characters.
The second Inver-Con was a sell-out success in Inverurie on Saturday, with Batmen, Jokers, Judge Dredds and even Freddie Kruegers joining forces for an afternoon of fun.
The Comic Con event was part of the Garioch town’s World of Words festival, which is held to raise money for local charity Inverurie Events every September.
Attendees browsed through stalls featuring their favourite comics, battled it out in a games rooms and were recognised for their costume-making efforts.
Festival organiser, and Inverurie Events secretary, Neil Baillie said: “It was a real success, we had about 400 people coming through the door for the Comic-Con event.
“Everybody was in character, it was definitely an event we want to progress and make bigger and better.
“There was a Comic-Con dress competition, we had stalls selling comic books, artists doing drawings and a Comic-Con costume workshop. We also had a gamer’s room. We were doing a lot of things associated with the bigger Comic-Cons.
“It was a great atmosphere. At one point the police turned up and they got their pictures taken with Judge Dredd.
“We also had a good turnout for Matt Lewis and the Philosophy Cafe on Friday.”
Tickets are still available for the week’s events, which include a talk from author and Gregory’s Girl star, John Gordon Sinclair.
However, due to a family illness, John Killick’s poetry sessions on Wednesday have been cancelled.
