Police are investigating after a serious two-vehicle crash on an Aberdeenshire road on Saturday night.

The crash between a blue Honda and a white Corsa van happened around 7pm.

UPDATE: One dead and one seriously injured following crash

The B9001 Inverurie was closed by police in both directions between the A920 junction in Folla Rule and the Gunhill Crossroads junction in Harlaw Ho.

Police were at the scene carrying out investigations through the night.

Fire crews had to cut at least one individual free from the wreckage.

There are no details on the condition of the occupants of the vehicles at this stage.
