A part of an Aberdeen street that has been used by fly-tippers for several years will finally be cleared up.
Aberdeen Central MSP Kevin Stewart said that the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency and the fire service have both been in contact with a business at the Virginia Street dumping ground, and they have now taken responsibility for the site.
Measures will also be put in place to deter any future illegal fly-tipping.
Mr Stewart said: “I am very pleased to hear that this site will finally be cleared up.
“There has been a significant amount of pressure put on the owner by both the fire and rescue service and SEPA, leading to the owner finally taking responsibility and cleaning up this mess.
“The site was a complete disgrace and it posed an unacceptable risk to people who lived nearby.
“I am sure they will be relieved to hear progress has finally been made in getting this cleared up.”
