Duchess of Argyll showing off the best of the west at festival

The Duchess of Argyll is preparing to welcome crowds of people to the grounds of Inveraray Castle this weekend for a food and music festival.

The two-day event on Saturday and Sunday celebrates traditional music, family fun and the pick of Argyll’s larder.

Last year saw record numbers of attendees, with more expected this weekend, as the castle grounds welcome a line-up of well-known music acts, and takes festival-goers on a culinary tour of the west of Scotland.

There will be live cooking from local, Scottish and international chefs using the best of west coast ingredients.

Loch Fyne Osyter Bar, Churchill Venison, Bumble Puddings and many more will be offering the freshest food throughout the weekend.

The ever-popular whisky tent will provide a perfect blend of live music and drams from more than 20 distilleries from the west coast.

For those looking for a different tipple, everything from cocktails to specially brewed ales will be flowing, as Fyne Ales will be on hand throughout the festival.

Children under eight get into the festival free of charge, with free entertainment in the festival for the youngsters.

The Duchess of Argyll Eleanor Campbell said: “We’re excited for a weekend of the best in food, drink and entertainment from the West of Scotland.

“This year we have music from Skipinnish, Manran, The League of Highland Gentlemen plus many more, mouth-watering food which celebrates Argyll’s larder, live cooking demonstrations, free children’s entertainment also children under eight going free.

“There are drinks from 20 whisky distilleries as well as West brewery – it’s going to be a fun packed weekend at Best of the West Festival.”
