Cops in the US continue to carry out inquiries to locate a missing Inverness busker after ruling out that a body discovered along the coast from his last known location belonged to him.
Kim Gordon, or Avis as he is also known, was reported missing towards the end of last month after his son Reuben contacted police reporting that his father had entered the water at Monastery Beach and had not returned.
A body washed up on the coastline at Salmon Creek on Sunday afternoon, around 70 miles from the area where Kim Gordon was last seen, sparking theories that this may be the missing busker’s body.
However, earlier today Monterey County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the body does not belong to Mr Gordon.
A spokeswoman said: “The body that was discovered on Sunday is not Mr Gordon from Scotland.
“At this time we are still carrying out inquiries.”
Comprehensive searches took place in the area for around two days following his disappearance on February 25, before police aired their suspicions that they believed Mr Gordon had not been swimming in the first place.
A warrant was issued last week by a High Court judge after Mr Gordon failed to appear in Edinburgh High Court where he is accused of multiple charges of rape and alleged child sex offences.
