Oban RNLI Lifeboat’s fundraisers have collected their first £1,000 raised by Betty’s Pots.
The pots project is the collection of five pence pieces in mini jam jars, a fundraising initiative now popular with lifeboat stations around the coast.
Collection points are at Atlantis Leisure, CGL Printers, Poppies Garden Centre, The Little Potting Shed, M&S, Costa Coffee, The Perle Hotel and Inverary Castle.
Phil Hamerton, Oban lifeboat’s fundraiser, said: “This tremendous achievement has been made possible only by numerous customers and visitors to these collecting points and as a consequence, we are able to continue supporting the invaluable life-saving work of Oban lifeboat.”
The focus has now turned to the selling of this year’s RNLI Christmas cards and 2020
Calendars. These will be available during November and December.
