Lochdonhead primary school on the isle of Mull has been named as runner up in the Scotland’s Finest Wood Awards.
The awards – run by independent charity, Scotland’s Finest Woods – celebrate the contribution that woodlands can make to the people of Scotland and to its environment and economic prosperity.
The school’s award recognises schools that increase young people’s understanding and appreciation of the environmental, social and economic potential of trees, woodlands and forests and of the link between trees and everyday wood-based products.
Head teacher Pauline Inglis said: “Lochdonhead Primary School’s curriculum recognises the importance of understanding, respecting and looking after our environment.”
The school received a prize of £250 sponsored by The Crown Estates, and trees for planting.
