West Highland College UHI will be launching eight new courses for 2015/16 at its open day in Fort William on Saturday.
New subjects of offer include two honours degree courses – BSc in adventure performance and coaching and marine and coastal tourism.
The college’s principal and chief executive Lydia Rohmer pointed out that these would be a perfect fit with the new postgraduate MSc in ecotourism and it’s already highly successful school of adventure studies programmes.
Other new courses include computing and digital media, HNCs in professional cookery and music and a new NC shipping and maritime operations course in Mallaig to accompany the maritime skills course.
Ms Rohmer said: “We are once again increasing the range and number of our courses to ensure that anyone studying with us can continue to gain valuable qualifications in preparation for future employment.”
She added: “All of these demonstrate our continued commitment to provide relevant and dynamic courses which help prepare our students for future study or employment, either in our local communities or further afield.”
More information on new and existing courses will be available at the open day at the college, which will run from 11am to 3pm.
