Motorist are being warned to expect delays on the A82 Fort William to Glasgow road at Ballachulish for eight working days starting next week.
The second phase of resurfacing works at Ballachulish roundabout in Lochaber is due to begin on Tuesday.
The work, which will involve the application of new high friction surfacing and road markings, will be carried out from 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday and is expected to be completed by Thursday June 9.
Trunk road maintenance agency Bear Scotland said temporary traffic lights would be in place for safety reasons.
Bear’s north west representative Eddie Ross said: “These essential surfacing improvements will upgrade the existing road surface, which is wearing out, improving road safety for motorists at the roundabout.
“We’ve taken steps to avoid disruption through scheduling the works to avoid the busy May bank holiday and avoiding working at weekends, and our teams will look to complete the resurfacing as quickly and safely as possible.”
