Planners have recommended the approval of new plans for a controversial wigwam campsite in the Cairngorms.
Speyside Trust, the charity which runs Badaguish Outdoor Centre, wants to build accessible cooking and toilet facilities for the wooden teepees, and site temporary portaloos and a car park on land to the north east of the centre.
But opponents to the latest developments are set to take issue with planners tomorrow in Nethy Bridge before the planning committee make their decision.
In her report to the committee, case officer Katherine Donnachie said: “This proposal for new, small scale servicing infrastructure at the approved recreational site is considered to comply with local development plan and national planning policies which support economic and tourism/leisure related developments.
“The development can be satisfactorily serviced, there is not considered to be any particular environmental impacts and the minor landscape impacts of this small development can be satisfactorily mitigated by implementation and ongoing maintenance of the proposed detailed landscape scheme.
“Approval is therefore recommended subject to appropriate planning conditions.”
However, local objectors have long opposed what they argue to be over-development of the area and will expand on written objections to the latest plans.
Concerns include whether there is enough drainage capacity at the site, adequate support for disabled groups using the site as part of the wider site plan, and the need for another car park.
In February last year the charity was served with a planning enforcement notice for breaching 11 planning conditions relating to unauthorised works on layout of wooded areas, arrangement of wigwams and work on a cycle track.
Other breaches included the failure to ensure that suitable refuse provision and bun storage was provided.
