Three teenagers will be referred to the children’s reporter in the wake of an alleged break-in at a Nairn school last week.
Two 13-year-olds and a 14-year-old will be questioned about the alleged theft of a four-figure sum of money and a number of electrical items from Millbank Primary.
It is understood that items including several iPads and cameras were reported missing on Friday.
The school has subsequently re-evaluated its security and changed locks.
A posting on a social network by the head teacher Maria McPherson stated: “We are all very proud of our school and are devastated at the damage that has been done.
“Please be assured that we continue to strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment for your child.”
A parent launched an online fundraiser to replace the items, quickly raising hundreds of pounds.
The school was the victim of vandalism in September last year when various items were set ablaze.
On that occasion, vandals gained entry to the playground and courtyard area where school property including a child’s bike and several play balls were set on fire.
