This is the moment a driver overtook a crane on the A96 – and was almost squashed.
The near-miss was captured on a motorist’s dash cam who was travelling in the opposite direction on the Aberdeen to Inverness road when the car overtook.
The driver, who did not wish to be named, said it happened at around 1.30pm at the weekend as they approached the roundabout at Inverness Retail Park.
In the video, you can see the small car overtake the crane as the two-lane carriageway merges into one.
The car is almost squashed between the large vehicle and a bollard separating the two lanes.
After it passes, debris can be seen flying across the road and in front of the car recording the incident.
The driver who captured the footage said: “The car didn’t stop and luckily the flying debris didn’t hit my own car.
“It appears to be bits of the car. You can see the car bounce off the side of the crane and it wasn’t far away from being bounced onto my side of the road.”
