Police have launched an investigation this morning after a man was found dead on an Inverness street.
Officers were called after a member of the public alerted found a man unresponsive on a pavement close to the Heathmount Hotel on Southside Road.
Emergency crews attended the scene at around 8am but found that the man had died.
A statement issued by police read: “There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and inquiries are ongoing to trace the man’s next of kin. Until this is complete no further details will be issued.
“Officers remain at the scene to carry out necessary inquiries and thank members of the local community for their co-operation and assistance in this regard.”
