Highland Council has pledged to rectify new webcast equipment that crashed within minutes on its first day of operation at Thursday’s Inverness City Committee.
The meeting lasted all day but anyone tuning in online expecting live coverage was soon left with a blank screen and guidance inferring the meeting had ended.
A spokeswoman for the council said: “Installation of the system was expedited to meet the timeline for the meeting.
“This was the first time that the new system was used and an unforeseen technical problem arose during the webcast.
“The system is part of a project to significantly upgrade our webcasting capability and has already been successfully installed and used in other locations.”
She added: “We have a high level of confidence in the technology and the contractor is onsite to get the technical problem rectified as soon as possible.”
