A takeaway restaurant’s door supervisor was knocked unconscious when she intervened in an argument between a man and a woman in the premises.
Inverness Sheriff Court heard yesterday that 24 year old Samuel Cowie seized the woman by the throat, punched her on the head and caused her to lose consciousness on March 17 this year in McDonald’s in Inverness.
Cowie of Burgie Drive, Tain admitted assault and was ordered to carry out 160 hours of unpaid community work.
Defence solicitor Patrick O’Dea said: “He was verbally abused by an unknown female and that was what triggered it.”
