Travellers booked on Loganair flight left at airport… Because plane had no room

About a third of passengers booked onto a Loganair plane were left behind at the airport because there was not enough room onboard.
Some 49 people had purchased tickets for the Stornoway to Glasgow service.
Many had booked seats at an expensive price after severe weather threatened ferry services.
But 17 affected travellers were turned away from the flight they paid for and had to wait for a later plane.
Loganair replaced the scheduled aircraft for a smaller one for the lunchtime service to Glasgow on Tuesday.
A Loganair spokesman said: “There were technical issues with the 50-seater Saab 2000 aircraft scheduled to operate the 12.35pm service from Stornoway to Glasgow, and it was replaced by a 32-seater Dornier 328.
“This resulted in 17 of the 49 passengers booked being flown to Glasgow later on an additional service.
“We’d like to apologise to these 17 passengers for the two-hour delay in reaching Glasgow.”
