The Red Hot Chilli Pipers’ Speyfest date at the weekend comes amidst a whirlwind schedule for the popular group.
The band will jet in to Manchester from Munich tonight before driving nearly 400 miles to get to Fochabers the following day.
The renowned bagpipers will then hit the road again straight after the gig to thrill an audience in Yorkshire on Sunday.
Fans of traditional music are due to start arriving on Speyside today to enjoy the weekend of entertainment, including concerts, a craft fair and workshops.
Super-group Blazin’ Fiddles, made up of some of the best fiddle players in the country, top the bill tonight.
And on Sunday the festival-goers have been encouraged to come dressed as cowboys or Celtic warriors as part of a “Celtic meets country” theme.
Chairman James Alexander hopes the dress code will lead to some creative costumes to enjoy the music.
He said: “We’ve really left it open for people to come however they think it fits with the theme. For country it would probably be cowboys, I don’t really know what people will come up with for Celtic.
“Country music has grown in popularity a lot recently and we thought it would attract some folk who wouldn’t ordinarily come to Speyfest – we want to open it up.
“There’s actually a lot of crossover between traditional and country music so it should sit quite well with the audience.”
