An investigation has been launched following a suspected deliberate blaze at a rifle range in Moray.
Police were called at about 11.20am on Sunday after flames were reported at the rural site near Kingston.
The fire was discovered within the storage building used to keep targets for the Binhill Firing Range near the coastal village.
Officers have now launched an appeal for witnesses and believe the blaze may have been started deliberately due to its remote location and suspicious circumstances.
Detective Constable John Riddell said: “I am appealing for any witnesses who were in the area of the firing range around the time the fire was reported, and who may have seen any suspicious activity.
“This is a popular walking route and I’m hopeful that someone will be able to provide information which may assist us in this investigation and help catch those responsible.”
Anyone with information should contact Elgin Police Office by calling 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to remain anonymous.
