A female cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car of the A85 in Perthshire today.
The road was closed for more than five hours following the accident, which happened at Lix Toll, Killin just before 11am today.
And motorists on the busy Perth to Crianlarich trunk road faced a 71-mile detour until the road reopened at 4.15pm.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland officers from the Forth Valley division responded to an incident on the A85 in which a Volvo car collided with a cyclist shortly before 11am.
“The female cyclist was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
She added that the road was closed while officers were carrying out an investigation at the scene, adding that inquiries were “at an early stage”.
