Rail services between Aberdeen and Edinburgh are experiencing major chaos after a person was hit by a train near the capital city.
The casualty was struck on the line between Haymarket and South Gyle at around 9.30pm.
ScotRail said its services were disrupted and lines are closed between Haymarket and Inverkeithing.
It expects the disruption to go on throughout the evening.
It said on social media: “Sadly, due to a person being hit by a train between Haymarket and Inverkeithing, services through these stations are disrupted.”
Replacement bus services are being put in place at Edinburgh Waverley heading towards Perth and Dundee.
