Well, it feels a tad odd writing this feature and not opening with a sentence including the words “Allan”, “saga” and “Scott”.

So just for old times sake – the Scott Allan transfer saga is over, after the midfielder joined Celtic on a four year deal.

But fear not, there is still plenty more transfer activity across the country – Rangers look set to complete a third loan signing, Celtic are considering their post-van Dijk options and Hearts are looking to build on their positive start to the season by signing a Swedish midfielder.

  • Rangers will next week make an “exciting loan signing” according to manager Mark Warburton.
    The Gers missed out on top summer target, Scott Allan, who yesterday joined Celtic, but have added Tottenham Hotspur duo Nathan Oduwa and Dominic Ball on loan. (Daily Record)
  • Celtic are considering a move for Croatia Under-20 defender Jozo Simunovic, should Virgil van Dijk leave for the Premier League.
    Bayern Munich and Lyon are also monitoring the defender, who Zagreb value at £4m. (Daily Mail)
  • Burnley have contacted Celtic, in the hope of signing forward Anthony Stokes.
    The Irishman has been told he is free to leave Parkhead and Bolton Wanderers, Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United are also said to be considering moves for the 27-year-old. (HITC)
  • Hearts are one of a number of clubs chasing Swedish midfielder Jens Jacobsson.
    The 25-year-old is out of contract at Assyriska in January and Wigan and Blackpool are also considering adding him to their ranks. (HITC)
