More than 1,300 people will be going for goal at a north-east football festival later this year.
The annual Denis Law Legacy Trust community football festival will take place at Aberdeen Sports Village from May to July.
Organisers have confirmed this year’s event has been extended and will now run for two months.
Graham Morrison, events manager at Aberdeen Sports Village, said: “The festival is a great opportunity for people of all ages to get together to celebrate and participate in a fantastic sport.
“Education will be a huge element to this year’s festival and we plan to convey this to participants in a number of creative ways.
“With a number of new initiatives and extended projects, the festival will be bigger and better than ever before.
“We are extremely fortunate to work with a number of vital sponsors, which allows us to offer this incredible sporting opportunity to the community.”
The festival will welcome people of all ages with a number of events planned, including walking football, and a ladies five-a-side football tournament.
And, as well as the sporting activities, this year’s festival will also have an educational element, where participants will have the opportunity to learn all about Aberdeen-born Denis Law CBE.
The Manchester United legend is widely considered one of the greatest footballers Scotland has ever produced.
Langstane Press and Nexen Petroleum UK are this year’s sponsors for the event, which runs from May 11 to July 15.
