Turriff United’s preparations for tonight’s Highland League game against Lossiemouth could be disrupted by a sickness bug.
United recorded back-to-back 4-1 victories against Rothes and Forres Mechanics despite having several players ruled out through injury.
Although United manager Ross Jack could welcome back some players for tonight’s rescheduled match against Lossie at the Haughs, he says illness has cast uncertainty over his team selection.
Jack said: “It has calmed down a bit but there is a sickness bug which has affected a few guys in the squad, so I won’t be able to announce the team until right before kick-off.
“Hopefully, I’ve got a strong enough squad, although apart from Chris Herd, who is suspended, we’re not nearly as bad as we were.
“We had a couple of youngsters who came back from loans and did extremely well, so we are looking to build on the last two wins we had.
“We’ve had three or four training sessions and the boys are in confident mood.
“We’ve got to try and carry on from where we left off against Forres.”
Lossie manager Charlie Charlesworth is demanding an improvement from his side, with the Coasters without a victory since a 5-0 win against Fort William on October 15.
He said: “It’s not been soul-searching but we’ve had a few chats about things.
“We are trying to find a way we can get a better performance going into the second half of the season as the wheels have come off a bit in terms of performances and results.
“We are looking for a much-improved performance and we will see if the results come with that. We seem to be on the wrong end of a lot of 3-2 and 2-1 defeats – we’ve not been able to string together 90 minutes.”
Lossie have major doubts over Martin Charlesworth (calf) and Kevin Flett (foot), while Aaron Hamilton and Ricky Wardrop could miss out through illness. Joao Rodrigues misses out through suspension, while Connor Macaulay is unavailable.
