Fort William showed their liking for the North of Scotland Cup with a 5-1 win at Rothes.

The visitors made the breakthrough in the 26th minute, Aidan Taylor slotting home after some superb build-up play from Ross Gunn.

Eight minutes later the home side equalised with a great header from Cormack.

Taylor notched his second after a great save from Ewen Macdonald fell to him eight yards out and he blasted the ball home.

Jack Brown fired the ball high into the net after a swift counter to make it three just before half time.

Fort continue to apply the pressure and early in the second half Gabriel Hastings had a header cleared off the line.

Taylor completed his hat-trick in the 57th minute with an excellent strike into the top corner of the net, then Brown grabbed his second to bring up the nap hand for the visitors.

Meanwhile, Brora Rangers swept past local rivals Wick Academy 6-0 at Dudgeon Park.

Brora took the lead through Jordan Macrae, his shot finding the net via a deflection off Ross Allan. Wick almost levelled immediately, but Craig Gunn’s effort hit the side netting.

Right on half time substitute Bjorn Wagenaar grabbed a crucial second for the home side with an excellent free-kick.

On the hour mark Brora made it three, the unmarked Marc Nicolson heading home from a corner. Joe Malin kept the home side’s lead intact with saves from Gary Manson and Sam Mackay in quick succession, before an unfortunate own goal by Alan Farquhar put Brora four in front and surely the game beyond Wick. Substitute Scott Davidson added number five with 13 minutesleft and Colin Williamson added a late sixth.
