Caley Thistle face a long wait to start the new season after Championship clubs concluded their league campaign will not begin before mid-October.
All 10 second-tier clubs held a meeting yesterday to discuss plans to restart matches behind closed doors following the coronavirus shutdown, with Scottish football having been suspended since March 13.
The Championship has now pencilled in an October restart, however that will be at the earliest as uncertainty remains over some clubs across all three lower league divisions who feel they cannot meet that target.
The possibility of league reconstruction remains on the table, with Championship clubs having initially been set a deadline of 5pm yesterday to submit their position on Hearts owner Ann Budge’s proposal.
That deadline has now been moved back, with clubs now having until Tuesday to submit their stance on the issue via email.
