Middlefield Wasps won their away game against Mormond Thistle in U17 B on Saturday, with the clash finishing 3-1.
Middlefield Wasps manager Stewart Ross said: “Going into the game after a positive result last time out, the message was to push on.
“The boys done well winning a penalty in the first six minutes to go 1-0 up.
“Around the half hour mark, we lost our striker to a second bookable offence, which gave us a task on our hands.
“At 1-0 at half time, the message was to keep to the game plan as we never looked like we were a man down, but we lost a goal in the 68th minute to a penalty.
“Again, we told the boys to keep to the plan and they did that brilliantly to go on and grab our second and then went on and grabbed a third.
“Special mention to Quinn Kollomeyer, who was outstanding at the back.
“Very proud of the boys to battle with 10 men and win so comfortable.”
Mormond Thistle’s head coach Sean Beddie said: “We’re disappointed not to take something from the game, as we played well and equalised in second half.
“But Middlefield scored two goals late on and probably deserved to win in the end – especially as they played second half with 10 men.”
The result brings no change for the teams in terms of league position: Mormond Thistle in ninth place and Middlefield Wasps in fourth.
