Former Quality Meat Scotland chief executive Uel Morton will start work at Scotbeef next month.
Mr Morton, who retired earlier this summer from the red meat levy, will join the firm in the new role of development director.
Scotbeef chief executive Robbie Galloway said: “Uel brings a unique skill set to Scotbeef that will enable us not only to develop our opportunities but also help us navigate some of the challenges our industry is going to face in the years ahead.”
Mr Morton said: “I am really looking forward to this new challenge; the red meat industry is hugely dynamic and I relish the opportunity to make a contribution to Scotland’s leading red meat processor.”
