An Aberdeenshire farming couple were surprised and delighted when one of their ewes gave birth to five healthy lambs. Kevin and Emma Reid, who farm at Newton of Plaidy, Turriff, run a 250-ewe flock comprising mainly Mules, as well as some Suffolks and Texels. Mrs Reid said the lambs, born on Sunday morning, were the couple’s first-ever set of quintuplets. The mother is a three-crop Mule, purchased from United Auctions in Stirling in 2016. Her lambs are Texel cross Mules. “All are well and happy,” said Mrs Reid. Send your unusual lambing and calving pictures to pj.farming@ajl.co.uk
