Aker Solutions has appointed Sian Lloyd Rees as UK Country Manager, based in Aberdeen.

Aker Solutions has announced the appointment of its new Aberdeen-based UK country manager.

Sian Lloyd Rees is to take up the reins from David Clark, who was holding the role in a temporary capacity.

Mr Clark will now focus on his role as executive vice-president for Aker Solutions’ global services organization.

Joining Aker Solutions in 2014, Ms Lloyd Rees has held leadership roles in several functions, including strategy and marketing, services development and global alliances.

In addition to her role as country manager for the UK, Ms Lloyd Rees will lead the customer management function for Aker Solutions across Europe and Africa.

She started her career with oil and gas firm Stena Offshore before transitioning into a multi-disciplined role within Halliburton.

She also boasts a background that includes a number of blue chip start-up companies.

Ms Lloyd Rees said: “I am pleased to lead the UK management team at an exciting time for our business in the UK.

“With our refurbished subsea service facility and growing production asset services business in Aberdeen, the development of a leading products technology centre in Reading, and an integrated front end and engineering execution organisation in London, we have an excellent opportunity to build market share and continue to deliver sustainable energy solutions for our customers globally.”
