One of the north-east’s top deal makers will address the future of the region’s mergers and acquisitions market at a P&J event next month.

Mike Beveridge, managing director of Simmons Energy, will take one of the top spots at the paper’s M&A business breakfast, sponsored by Deloitte on February 20.

The event, at the Chester Hotel, will explore whether a renewed optimism in oil and gas could be just the ticket to driving M&A activity forward in 2020.

Mr Beveridge joined the firm in the late 1990s as a leader of a team headhunted to establish and develop Simmons European operations out of Aberdeen.

His clients range from some of the most advanced and high-growth technology companies through to well established founder-owned and private equity portfolio companies as well as many mid-cap and large, publicly-listed OFS groups.

Over the years Mr Beveridge has acted as lead adviser on multiple buy side, sale side and finance-raising transactions for a diverse range of clients across the entire spectrum of the energy services industry.

Simmons Energy – a division of Piper Jaffray – is a leading specialist investment banking firm dedicated to the energy industry. Simmons Energy’s parent group Piper Jaffray is a broad-based mid-market investment banking firm and is listed on the NYSE.
