Aberdeen company John Clark Motor Group (JCMG) said yesterday it was adding a trio of marques to its Granite City showrooms in a move creating 53 jobs.

Renault, Dacia and Peugeot businesses will be located in the former Audi operation in Abbotswell Road, representing an investment of more than £500,000 by the group.

Site development is currently underway to make sure the buildings meet design standards stipulated by the manufacturers.

JCMG said the new dealerships would open to the public early in 2016.

In addition to showroom space for Renault, Dacia and Peugeot vehicles, site development will create a used car facility operating under the trading name of Clark Motorchoice, which is already up in running in Edinburgh, and new workshop, MOT and wheel alignment bays.

Business development director Chris Clark said: “Aberdeen plays a significant role in our group success and the latest moves with Peugeot, Dacia and Renault will build on the success through the diversity of cars we offer.

“We are putting significant investment toward developing and refurbishing what was our Audi facility for these three new brands and look forward to welcoming new customers and current owners in the new year.”

Andrew Simpson, currently managing JCMG’s Nissan dealerships, will become franchise director for the Peugeot, Dacia and Renault suite.
