Festivalgoers were out in force to support the first Highland Beer, Gin and Whisky Festal which took place at the weekend.
The sun was shining at Canal Park and organisers, The Highland Rugby Football Club (Highland RFC), were delighted with the turn out with more than 2,500 visitors attending.
The festival ran in conjunction with Inverness City 7s, a two-day rugby 7s competition with tournaments for elite men’s, social women’s and men’s and junior boys, girls and young adults.
Due to its success the organisers have already confirmed the event will return in 2023.
It had been postponed since 2019 due to the pandemic, and organisers ensured festivalgoers had a jam-packed series of events lined-up for the weekend.
Beer, gin and whisky fans enjoyed products from favourite local brands as well as testing out new tipples, with the likes of Black Isle Brewery, Loch Ness Spirits and Tomatin Distillery in attendance.
Feis Rois and the Electric Cherries kept people entertained across the weekend, too.
“What a great weekend. It was an honour to see so many people enjoying brilliant rugby, excellent local craft beer, gin and whisky, and of course, good company at Canal Park, said Roy Dinnes, vice president at Highland RFC.
“This was our first Highland Beer, Gin and Whisky Festival and Inverness City 7s which we hope to make an annual event. It was a real highlight of Highland RFC’s centenary year, and I would like to thank everyone who helped to make this happen.”
