The commercial property market within the Highlands has seen a resurgence over the past few years after a period of prolonged financial turmoil, according to the area’s leading commercial estate agency.

Based in Inverness, ASG Commercial has reached the top of the industry in just over a decade by creating trust between the team and their clients.

ASG Commercial’s Director of Commercial Sales, Paul Hart, has undertaken a review of the market place, identifying current trends and the challenges plus opportunities going forward.

He explained: “The overarching situation at this time is one of confidence.

“Property prices remain at a realistic and affordable level for many buyers. This is supported by the increasing number of sales through 2016, which has continued into 2017.

“Factors encouraging this upward trend in sales has been the ongoing support from key High Street banks for both experienced operators and first-time entrepreneurs.”

Paul added: “The quality of businesses on the market is of a high standard and with the rising occupancy figures being demonstrated across the Highlands, the well-run trading entities are enjoying record takings.

“The Highlands is a vibrant and enjoyable place to live and many people are relocating to the area in search of a better quality of life and the lure of self-employment.”

Paul continued by explaining that while the political landscape – particularly Brexit and a possible second independence referendum – could have a significant bearing on potential sales, the devaluation of the pound has encouraged ex-pats and non-UK residents to consider buying businesses in the Highland region.

He said: “As of May this year, ASG Commercial had not encountered any quantifiable negativity surrounding the political landscape.

“Indeed, all our measureable indices are showing growth across the spectrum of figures; a most positive situation.”

In the past couple of months, ASG Commercial has seen a number of sales across different industries, including:

Paul continued: “Claims that the property market is in some sort of minor decline is not reflected within the commercial sector in the Highlands.

“ASG Commercial is sitting with around 21 properties under offer covering the retail, hotel and B&B sectors.”

ASG Commercial is also marketing new and attractive properties, including:
