A 27-year-old man has been charged following a dangerous driving incident and Police chase on a busy Aberdeenshire road.
Officers in Inverurie had routinely stopped a vehicle in-between Inverurie and Port Elphinstone on Friday afternoon at around 4pm.
The driver stopped, but then made off from Police and was then seen driving on the wrong side of the road before colliding with another vehicle.
A chase on foot ensued, before officers apprehended the man who has now been charged and will be appearing in Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday, August 14.
A police statement said: “At about 1600 hours on Friday 11 August 2017 an incident occurred between Inverurie and Port Elphinstone where by a vehicle was routinely stopped and thereafter made off from Police. The driver was seen to be driving on the wrong side of the road before colliding with another vehicle.
“The driver soon came to a halt and made off on foot but was apprehended after a short foot chase.
“A 27 year old male has been charged with various offences, mostly Road Traffic and is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday 14 August 2017.”
