When does your weekend start?
Usually, we play on Saturday afternoon at 3pm, so the weekend will begin at the final whistle, but occasionally we play on a Sunday, which really ruins the weekend.

Home-made pizza with a bottle of red wine, shared with my wife – in front of our imaginary wood-burning stove.
Perfect night out
Always a music concert.
Ideal weekend partner?
A victorious game of tennis against local tennis hero Jonathan Lints, followed by a walk with the family dog, Cali, and rounded off with dinner at the Malmaison with my wife.
Favourite weekend shopping destination?
Glasgow ticks all the boxes. The House of Fraser on Buchanan Street is ideal for getting in and getting out quickly.
Favourite place to walk?
Balmedie Beach is beautiful and has some of the most spectacular dunes in Scotland.
Weekend you’d love to live again
Our wedding weekend at St Andrews last summer with our closest friends and family. We had the best weekend of our lives. It went by too quickly.
Weekend you’d hate to live again
We once got taken to a marine camp in Lunan Bay as part of our pre-season training. Gruelling fitness on the sand dunes while getting shouted at by the Marines. No thank you.
Perfect Sunday breakfast?
Pancakes, bacon and maple syrup washed down with a good flat white coffee and fresh orange juice.
Your cure for the Sunday blues?
A game of golf at Royal Aberdeen Golf Club with friends, followed by Sunday lunch at my mum’s house.
Your dream weekend (if money was no object)
Paddle-boarding and hiking in Santa Barbara, California, followed by wine tasting in the Santa Ynez Valley.
