Traffic will come to a standstill in the north-east this weekend to make way for the latest delivery of steel beams for the Aberdeen bypass.
The beams will be used to construct the North Deeside Road bridge and a separate bridge near Muchalls, just off the Netherley road.
The first load, of 15 108ft beams, will be for the latter structure and will arrive today and tomorrow.
Travelling north on the Dundee-Aberdeen stretch of the A90, the abnormal load trucks will turn left onto Auqorthies, just after the Stonehaven junction, before reaching the site.
To allow the beams to be installed and the bridge work to be carried out, the road which runs between B979 and Elrick Farm will be closed from this morning through till 8pm next Friday.
Delivery of the beams, six at 144ft and six at 95ft, for North Deeside Road will take place tomorrow and Sunday.
The trucks delivering the 95ft beams will set off tomorrow and will travel to the site, via Leggart Terrace and Milltimber Brae.
The 144ft beams will be given a police escort along the same route.
For safety reasons, there will be temporary traffic lights in place at Milltimber Brae and South Deeside Road between 9.30am and 3.3opm.
Motorists could be stopped by a red light for around 15 minutes while the trucks reverse up Milltimber Brae.
Local parking restrictions will be in place to allow the beams to be safely unloaded from the delivery vehicles and placed into position.
