The collision happened on the northbound lane of the A90 Aberdeen to Dundee road, south of Aberdeen, at about 8.25pm. Police closed the carriageway, in between the Bridge of Muchalls and Stonehaven, while the ambulance service also attended the scene. Paramedics treated the cyclist, a man in his 40s, and he was subsequently taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. However, police were unable to confirm the extent of his injuries or whether anyone else had been hurt in the incident. The northbound carriageway remains blocked while accident investigation officers examine the scene. Drivers are being diverted off the A90 onto the Netherley Road and the Slug Road.
