High IQ society Mensa on the lookout for new north-east members

The world’s oldest high IQ society will host a testing session in Aberdeen this month.

Mensa only accepts members older than 10-and-a-half and who have an IQ in the top 2% of the country.

It is estimated that around 4,000 people in the north-east could be eligible to join, but the region’s chapter only has around 100 members.

The test consists of two parts – one involving verbal reasoning skills and the other using diagrams and images with no words.

And Mensa says those taking part only need to score high enough on one of the exams to be offered membership.
