North-east shoppers will have the chance to purchase prize draw tickets to raise funds for a local addiction recovery charity.

This Monday a team from Teen Challenge North East Scotland (TCNES) will be at a supermarket in Peterhead as part of a fundraising initiative.

Tickets will cost £5 giving shoppers the chance to win a new 1200cc Triumph Scrambler XC, while also donating to the charity’s two residential centres Sunnybrae and Benaiah.

Both offer a rural Aberdeenshire retreat for those suffering substance misuse and helps them rebuild their lives.

Gordon Cruden, TCNES area manager, said: “We’re excited to give people in Peterhead the opportunity to win a brand new Triumph motorbike while helping men and women to break free from addictions.

“For bikers, they have the opportunity to win the very latest Triumph motorbike, which is valued at £11,500. Meanwhile non-bikers can still contribute to the Teen Challenge cause and, if they win, sell the prize.”

The draw will be made at noon on July 26, at the home of sponsors Shirlaws.

Store manager Craig Shirlaw said: “We are extremely excited to see another prize draw launched to support the work of Teen Challenge North East Scotland and wish the team all the best.”
