Police searching for a missing man who was last seen in Peterhead more than fortnight ago are increasingly concerned for his welfare.
Officers have launched a multi-lingual effort to find Aivar Kajaks.
Three versions of a poster highlighting the police appeal for information have been issued – one in English, one in his native Latvian and another in Russian.
The 44-year-old is believed to have a number of friends and acquaintances who speak those languages.
Mr Kajaks was last seen more than two weeks ago in Peterhead’s Broad Place but was only reported missing towards the end of last week.
He is described as being around 5ft 6in tall, with short brown hair, blue eyes.
When last seen, he was wearing a jacket and blue jeans.
Mr Kajaks works odd jobs in Peterhead and is understood to stay with friends on a short-term basis. Police inquiries are ongoing to trace these people.
Peterhead Inspector George Cordiner said: “Although Aivars was only reported missing to police a few days ago, he hasn’t been seen for more than two weeks.
“I am increasingly concerned for him and urge any friends or acquaintances to please get in touch – it is crucial we establish where he is and confirm he’s safe and well.
“Officers will be issuing these posters in the local area, however I also ask members of the public to share our appeals, so that we can ensure Aivars’ details and photograph are seen by as many people as possible.”
Anyone who has seen Mr Kajaks recently, or who has information on his whereabouts, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 4151 of August 10 2019.
