Two charities will benefit from fundraising efforts at a fine dining festival in Aberdeen.
The 13-day food festival at the Chester Hotel has raised more than £300,000 for the Friends of the Neonatal unit in recent years, and this year’s event will contribute more to improve care at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital.
Cash will also go towards The Parkinson’s Cure Trust, to assist the efforts of a chef who is taking part in the Signature culinary bash.
Michelin star chef, Martin Wishart, is setting out on a 3,500-mile cross-Atlantic sailing challenge in aid of the charity and some funds will go towards his collection.
Parkinson’s disease is a cause close to the heart of Mr Wishart, who runs a restaurant in Edinburgh, as his mother was diagnosed with the condition a decade ago.
The fine dining event boasts a line up of some of the UK’s top chefs, and an opening lunch with comedian Jason Manford.
Festivities kick off November 3, and more details can be found at www.signaturefoodfestival.co.uk
