Aberdeenshire East MSP Gillian Martin has praised the success of a recent conference.
Designed to inspire girls to consider pursuing a STEM-based career, the Girls in Energy conference was set up by Shell to promote female interest in the industry.
It was part of a one-year course aimed at showing young women the many career opportunities in STEM with 100 girls taking part.
Mrs Martin was a judge on the Dragons Den-style panel, questioning students on their ideas for a cleaner energy future.
She said: “These are skills and opportunities which will become ever more critical as we transition to a low carbon economy and tackle the climate emergency.”
The conference took technology out of the classroom and was described by participants as a”huge hit”.
